AUGUST PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

We have a very busy calendar for the rest of the summer and beyond. Lobster season will open August sixth as usual which I guess will give the lion fish a reprieve for a while. There are lots of dives scheduled so get on the website and sign up.

The Key’s weekend will be here before we know it. If you are planning on attending you need to sign up on the website because we have a limited amount of rooms. We always have a great time so think about joining us.

The water is quite warm so let’s go diving.

JULY PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

We had a highly successful trip to Cozumel last month. We had twenty one people with nineteen divers and two bubble watchers. Because we had a large group we had our own boat, with two dive masters assigned to the group. I was not able to go on this trip but from what I hear everyone had a great time. Since I missed this years trip I am definitely planning another trip for next year. Think about joining us.

Lobster mini season is coming up. This year the dates are July 30 and 31. Regular season is as always August 6. Be sure your gear is in good working order by having it serviced if needed.

There are lots of dives on the calendar and the water is quite warm. Feel free to coordinate a dive if you have a favorite. Contact an Eboard member to find out how.

JUNE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE FROM COZUMEL

As I write this there are 21 of our members having a great time in. Cozumel. As a result we had to cancel the Eboard meeting with so many Eboard members out of the country.

There are still many events on the calendar to keep you busy. The water is warming up nicely so get out there and do some diving.

Remember, you don’t have to be a member of the Eboard to coordinate an event. If you have an idea for an event just tell someone on the Eboard and we will walk you through it.

MARCH PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Well here it is March already. It seems like the holiday party was just a couple of weeks ago. Oh, wait a minute, it was just a couple of weeks ago. If you missed it you missed a great party. As promised, the food, music and company were top notch. We also did something we should have done long ago, making Joe Smariga an honorary member. This was done to recognize all the work that Joe has and continues to do. He has held most of the offices on the Eboard, does all of the grilling whenever we have a party with cooking is involved, tends bar at the holiday party, coordinates the Keys weekend and takes care of the IT at our meetings. It was my great pleasure to present Joe with a certificate naming him an honorary member. It is well deserved.

The lobster hunters among us will be busy this month, weather permitting. As you might know, lobster season ends March 31.

There are a few dives scheduled in March including a lemon shark dive so check out the calendar and join in for a fun day of diving. We also have a few non diving events for the cold water phobics including a bike ride in Shark Valley so think about joining in.

Consider coordinating an event. You don’t have to be a member of the Eboard to do events. Anyone on the eboard would be thrilled to walk you through it. Don’t be shy.

Please remember to pay your dues if you haven’t done so already. Remember, you cannot participate in most club activities unless you are a member in good standing.
