March - Sean Williams – scientific diving in alaska
SCIENTIFIC DIVING WITH THE ALASKA SEALIFE CENTER
Sean Williams will join us on Zoom from The Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward, Alaska! The Center is a nonprofit facility focusing on marine and marine animal rehabilitation research, as well as a public aquarium. As an organizational member of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences, the ASLC performs scientific diving in support of its mission, helping to generate and share scientific knowledge in order to promote understanding and stewardship of Alaska’s marine ecosystems.
Every year, ASLC divers perform over 400 cold-water dives, the majority of which take place within the aquarium to support the marine exhibits. ASLC divers also perform open water dives in Resurrection Bay year-round.
Please join SFDI on Wednesday, March 4th, as we learn more about diving with the Alaska SeaLife Center, and enjoy photos and videos of its most recent activities.
