Happy April Birthday to
Dinner and drinks for 10 bucks? Yup! Once again Joe will be cooking a pig for your dining pleasure. You can't beat this deal! Inflation still hasn’t caught up with South Florida Divers! The annual pig roast will be held April 6 at the VFW. It's always a fun party. Don’t forget to bring your side dish and a big appetite. Once again, I urge you to bring guests, the more the merrier. I hope to see you there. Unlike the Holiday Party, we are not allowed to bring in any alcoholic beverages. The club, as usual, will be providing beer, wine and soft drinks. The bar will be open if you wish to purchase anything special.
Spring will be upon us soon with warmer weather and warmer water. This is a good time to inspect your dive gear that has been lying idle in the garage. We often forget to check mask and fin straps, and try on those wet suits which tend to shrink over the winter. This is also a good time to get annual service on your regulators and buoyancy compensators as the dive shops are not as busy as they will be in the coming months.
If there is a dive or non-dive activity you would like to see on the calendar please let me or anyone on the e-board know and we will get it done. The club needs your participation to remain fun and interesting.
It’s time for me to toss out this broken record so this is my last reminder. Please pay your dues for 2019 if you have not done so already. Thank-you to all those who already have paid.
Our speaker for the April meeting will be David Anderson from Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton. David is the sea turtle conservation coordinator at the center. Gumbo Limbo does a great job of rehabilitating sick and injured sea turtles and I expect David”s presentation to be very interesting. I hope to see all of you there.
